Doc, well its 12 months now since Ive been on sertraline since you said to first take care of the anxiety/depression/ocd but didnt really completely helped me with the sound in my head. I played call of duty on ps5 off and on ... IWent from 25 mgs to 50 then 75,100,150 and now 200mgs. Now im tapering of gram by gram since I havent noticed any 100% improvement. Going off because I read a a big canadian study where it says that antidepressants may shorten life by 33%. I did noticed last week it was a little better that I was on 200mgs but now im around 150 mgs and i feel worse now. Im afraid that the more I go down the worse I will feel. I started going to the gym and a regular conventional electric sauna which feel that it makes me feel better but today again the sound comes and goes. Im also breathing amd doing hum mantras. Im slowly tapering off sertraline. Hope I dont screw up my mental help. Should I keep taking Sertraline?

@@VikVeerENTSurgeon Oh really! That’s interesting. I’ve had it for three months now, and it’s changed a lot. I habituated really quickly the first month. Then it’s slowed down the past two months. It used to be a loud peep. Now it’s a faint buzz or hiss. Used to be in one ear too, but now it’s in both. Just lower volume. It’s not super loud, unless I’ve had alcohol or I’ve sat with a bad posture for too long. Typically I don’t think about it too much, but not hearing it at all is challenging. And I don’t want to run from it either or be afraid of it. I have sleep ear buds that I use when I sleep. And I put on a podcast or sound therapy with crickets and water stream sounds. I used to need a lot of volume to mask it, but now I barely need any volume at all.

Hi Doc. I just had Septoturbinoplasty surgery 11 days ago in my country Malaysia 🇲🇾 . Can I add some points as well as sharing my procedures to your video based on my experience? 🙏🏻 I had anemia, my HB is only 8.9 with 3x covid history, Gerd patient also MDD psy patient. 1. Firstly, During surgery, I was in my irregular menses. Surgeon said my turbinate keep on repeating bleeding as they had to remove the turbinate bone and my deviated septum as well. and because of that (menses) it takes long time to stop the bleeding. Doc said the bleeding might be from the hormonal effect coz menses open up all some kind of nerves. And until now, my menses is still here. I dont know how to describe, but my menses didnt out on the sanitary pad, but it goes out when i peed. During dressing on 7th day, my menses out normally and can be seen on sanitary pad. I don't know how to relate, is it because of hormones as doc said or is it because of GA effect on my body. I dont know whether this is serious issue or not. 2. General anesthesia, make my throats so painful until 5th day after surgery. Same goes to front teeth as u said in video. I would like to share to anyone who will having this surgery, please standby any lozenges as it helps with the sore throats. Oh ya your mouth became sooo dry because you inhale /breathing using mouth and you need to standby big bottles beside you (preferable with straw) and keep drinking every 10-15 minutes. And Toilet visit after that because you keep drinking. The 'critical part' of the dry mouth can last until 5 days after surgery, and the rest day you can tolerate. 3. The surgery for me is ZERO PAIN at all. I had 80% blockage but after surgery, I swear to God, no pain at all in my nose. I only feel pain on throats because of the tube and at front teeth pain. The congestion is REAL, but rinsing with Neil Med Sinus Rinse 4-5x a day REALLY HELPS. I strongly suggest to use a lukewarm water not bath warm water temperature as it helps to 'melted' the mucosa, blood n the crust. Seriously if you really taking care of 4-5x nasal rinsing, you will get better nasal heal faster. 4. After surgery, my eyes keep watering until day 4th after surgery. It was so unpleasant to have that until i get sore eyes. Nothing can help on this as doc said they stuff in cotton/gauze in my nose to stop the bleeding and that cause blocked the waterline in the nose. I don't know the terms but this happened to me and my eyes become watery 24/7. So for those who are going to have this surgery, this might happen to you too. Very discomfort. 5. The other effect, my nose had runny nose. I don't know what water goes out from nose sometimes, but it feels like you are in flu and runny nose. I need to standby tissue or gauze all the time. The best part is, It comes much much runny when you sleep till i need to change the soak gauze. I get somehow a bit traumatised to sleep because i worried about it. I talk to my surgeon during dressing time and he gave me loratadine and avamys spray. 6. I had my 1st sneezing, 12 hours after surgery and frequent sneezing like before surgery on day 5th. (coz I have allergy rhinitis). Try to blow using mouth, and not put pressure on nose to sneeze. How? U will figure out by yourself later. 😅 I think thats for all from my experience. Oh ya, i able to drive on the 4th day after surgery but just go for the nearest store only coz i get small headache when hit hot sunny sun of 34'c here. All the best, hopefully you guys get something from my sharing. Cheers from Malaysia 🇲🇾

sounds like you have a lateral nasal valve collapse. easy to fix. can be done with latera in clinic or might need a strut which needs a general anaesthetic. ask the ent to check for this, or you can look at your nostrils in the mirror and just sniff. if the sides of your nostrils collapse in, then it seems likely. good luck.
